From the BBC article, residents of Tiarza in northern Pakistan were cut off from the rest of the world as the Pakistani army moved into the town, purportedly hunting Taliban in the area. According to the army, the Taliban destroyed the village’s only communication tower late Sunday cutting off the town from the rest of the world.
A resident from Tiarza who escaped the violence called the Army’s account into question claiming that the communications tower was destroyed by aerial bombardment.
Responding to recent attacks the Pakistani army continued into South Waziristan with 30,000 troops intent on moving the Taliban out of the area.
The Miskatonic Press is reporting that loud wailing has been heard coming from villages under attack. On returning to his home after an army attack, a local tribal chieftain was reported as saying, “I came back, there were pieces of the fighters everywhere. The entire market is stained with their blood. They have been torn to pieces by the army’s forces and the claw marks are covering their bodies”.
Asked to refine his comments, the chieftain waved off the interviewer and returned to his home.
